There has been much agony from the Udall campaign about this hard hitting but thought provoking political ad that came out the other day. They are in agony because they avoid issues and Allen Weh is at least talking about more than drought, campaign reform, minimum wage and windmills. If Tom Udall has his way, this ad will not even be permissible because the opposition candidate won’t have money to make it and get his free speech on television.
The allusions to beheadings are ludicrous because we watched the video and looked at the message, not just for gotchas points. The Udall campaign of late act like copy editors looking for placement of periods and commas rather than answering challenges from their opponent.
The U.S. has been involved in Middle East conflicts for fifty years. We have had no coherent policy in fifty years. We have armed all sides of the conflict for fifty years. We have armed terrorist groups and trained them for war for fifty years. We have destabilized countries and made protectionist deals for some of the most totalitarian regimes on the planet. These are things that need to be talked about – what is our role, if any, in the Middle East?
Tom Udall likes to talk, talk, talk, talk.
We are tired of talk. We are tired of war. We are tired of the same old same old from our representatives.
It is great to see issues finally beginning to surface in a campaign for Senate.
The last line is excellent: “If you want to change Washington, you must change your Senator.”
We don’t have leadership from Tom Udall. We have distortion, distraction, and deceit.
