True to form, Senators Udall and Heinrich applaud a recent Executive order that makes half a million acres in Southern New Mexico a national wilderness against protests by local citizens. At issue is taking half a million acres of state land and giving it to the Federal government. This means access is severely limited, the state won’t be able to develop the land or resources, and the Federal government, that already owns 50% of our state, will now own more.

Environmentalists are thrilled but local citizens who have been fighting this move for five years are not so happy. There was a smaller proposal on the table that would have been much more justifiable.

If land is so important to out of state environmentalists why don’t they work on confiscating New York or Illinois land?

Once again, the corporation that we call Big Government has achieved another coup. Next thing you know the parcel will be sold to China to help pay for the National Debt.

Thanks Senator Udall for selling out the state again for votes and your personal prestige.
