A recent Rasmussen survey found over two-thirds of Americans feel election rules are rigged to ensure incumbents are victorious over challengers.
A large number feel that elections are not fair and that incumbents do not get elected just because they are representing their constituents well.
Not having to run in a primary, huge fundraising advantages, the power of their office providing perks, being in the news constantly, name recognition, free mailing privileges and a huge budget for staffs and internet websites all help incumbents.
Since 2012, 9 out of 10 House and Senate incumbents have been re-elected.
When Tom Udall makes campaign reform his MAIN issue, you just have to bust out laughing.
