Back in 2011, this article (see link below) described an “alternative budget” proposed by the Congressional Progressive Caucus. It has been discussed before that New Mexico’s Tom Udall and Ben Ray Lujan and probably, though he isn’t a signed in member, Martin Heinrich are members of this Socialist organization.
In the first few sentences of the alternative budget, the goals of the group are outlined and, if one looks at the voting record of Tom Udall, it is clear that they have achieved their points.
The budget of the CPC looks for “increased public spending, a green economy, significant tax hikes, in order to right the struggling economy.”
It appears that they have achieved the points of their program but have not achieved their goals.
The New Mexico economy as well as the U.S. economy struggles, government programs have proliferated (ObamaCare), taxes have gone up for everyone, and you see windmills by most highways – except the blades are rarely moving?
It is sad to see New Mexican’s settling for the STATUS QUO when the STATUS QUO is so poor. It is sad to see our state electing Congressmen who can’t even come up with a budget in the Congress but can easily come up with an “alternative budget” in their Socialist group.
The longer things go on the more you feel that they won’t be changing much.
