Tom Udall Wants to Address Climate Change but How About the Kirtland AFB Jet Fuel Spill That Threatens All of Albuquerque?

 Posted:  July 27, 2014

Tom Udall is an environmental warrior as described by himself, his opponents, and the media. He is a man who has dedicated his life to keeping the air clean, the water clean, the soil clean, animals safe, and humans (especially business) under control.

How is it that he has done nothing except attend meetings and issue statements about the jet fuel spill at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque. The leak was discovered in 1999 and no progress has been made?

The extent of the spill has been estimated to be 24 MILLION gallons of toxic jet fuel which is moving underground, above the Albuquerque water table. There are 600,000 residents in Albuquerque. The fuel is moving towards five city wells that supply thousands of Albuquerque citizens with water.

Much like the V.A., Tom Udall talks a big game, but carries a small stick. As a man who loves the environment you would think, since 1999, this would have been his top priority.

However, we guess minimum wage, food stamps, campaign finance and illegals made legal, are his real top priorities – that, and staying in Washington.

We don’t want to hear about the Air Force and their excuses. We don’t want to hear from Tom Udall and his excuses.

We want someone in office that actually deals with the jet fuel spill and lets the prairie chicken and silvery minnow wait.
