Where Does Tom Udall Stand on Free Internet Speech?

The linked article below foreshadows a fight that is coming. It involves political blogs and Websites (such as this one).

At present, we do not have to register with the government or report expenses. We are free to present our views, protected under the U.S. Constitution. It is a freedom that is essential to a free people because even if you don’t like what we have to say, you have to protect our right to say it. This Website, like millions of others, is enabled by a free and open Internet that lets the little guys make a say against the powerful money interests of incumbent politicians.

In a recent vote by the FEC, all the Democrats voted to start requiring more accountability of the Internet, a move that will definitely bring on censorship and the restricting of our free speech. The Republicans, to their credit, voted to keep the internet as it is now.

Tom Udall, a Democrat, has made talk in the past of keeping the Internet open and free but we want to know, when push comes to shove, will he vote with his party (as usual), or will he vote to keep the Internet open and free for the little guy.

With his campaign reform and filibuster policies, we suspect that Tom Udall will be only too glad to sell Americans down the river and start the involvement of the Federal government into the Internet, where they do not belong.
